Islamabad, October 30, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded Turkey’s unwavering support for Pakistan during its war with India, describing Ankara as having “stood firmly with Pakistan like a rock.”
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad marking Turkey’s Republic Day, the prime minister highlighted the deep-rooted economic, strategic, and defense cooperation between the two brotherly nations.
“Turkey has always been a steadfast friend of Pakistan, sharing our joys and standing by us in times of difficulty,” Shehbaz said during his address.
He noted that Turkey has consistently supported Pakistan’s stance on Palestine and Kashmir, while Pakistan has backed Turkey on Cyprus, underscoring the long-standing diplomatic alignment between the two countries on key international issues.
The prime minister also emphasized the growing bilateral trade and defense collaboration, expressing hope that ties would “continue to strengthen for the mutual benefit of both nations.”
