In a groundbreaking move set to reshape digital commerce, PayPal and ChatGPT have announced a strategic partnership that will enable users to make direct in-chat purchases using PayPal’s digital wallet. The collaboration merges conversational AI with secure payment technology, offering a seamless shopping experience where users can browse products, confirm orders, and complete payments — all without leaving the ChatGPT interface.
According to the companies, the feature will allow ChatGPT users to connect their PayPal accounts to their chat profiles, making it easier to pay for goods, services, subscriptions, and even digital content through natural language interactions.
PayPal said the partnership marks a major step in its mission to “make payments more intuitive and conversational,” while ChatGPT’s parent company described it as “a new era of intelligent commerce,” where users can act on their decisions instantly within a chat.
The integration is expected to roll out in phases starting early 2026, initially supporting select merchants and digital services before expanding to a broader audience.
