Rawalpindi, November 5, 2025: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army has no intention of interfering in political matters, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to constitutional boundaries and national stability.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, the DG ISPR said, “The Pakistan Army believes in democracy and supports all constitutional institutions. We do not wish to become part of any political process or controversy.”
He stressed that the military’s focus remains on national security, counterterrorism operations, and disaster relief efforts, while political decisions should be made by elected representatives through parliamentary channels.
General Ahmed Sharif also reiterated that the armed forces will continue to support the government in maintaining internal security and safeguarding Pakistan’s borders, but “political engagement is not our domain.”
Political analysts have welcomed the statement as a positive sign toward reinforcing civil-military balance and institutional neutrality in Pakistan’s governance.
