Bucharest, November 5, 2025: In a symbolic gesture celebrating long-standing diplomatic ties, the Romanian government has announced plans to name a major road in Bucharest “Karachi Avenue” in honor of its friendship with Pakistan.
Romanian officials said the decision reflects decades of cooperation and mutual respect between the two nations, particularly in areas of trade, culture, and education. The new road name will serve as a tribute to the city of Karachi, Pakistan’s economic hub and a center of international commerce.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Romania welcomed the announcement, calling it a “heartwarming acknowledgment of the enduring friendship between our peoples.” He added that such initiatives strengthen cultural and diplomatic relations while highlighting shared values of peace and cooperation.
The naming ceremony for “Karachi Avenue” is expected to take place later this month, attended by officials from both countries, diplomats, and members of the Pakistani community in Romania.
