LAHORE — A Pakistani-American philanthropist, Maqsood, has donated Rs.1 crore to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH) to help fund cancer treatment for deserving patients.
According to hospital officials, the donation will be used to provide free chemotherapy, diagnostic services, and patient care to those unable to afford treatment. Maqsood, who has been living in the United States for several years, said his contribution was a way of “giving back to the country that gave me everything.”
He praised the efforts of the Shaukat Khanum team, calling the hospital “a beacon of hope for countless families battling cancer.”
Hospital representatives expressed gratitude for the generous act, emphasizing that such donations play a crucial role in sustaining SKMCH’s mission of offering world-class healthcare to all, regardless of financial means.
