Murree:
The Murree Expressway has been closed for all types of traffic following heavy snowfall in the region, officials confirmed on Saturday. The decision was taken to ensure public safety as snow accumulation and slippery road conditions made travel extremely dangerous.
According to the traffic police, continuous snowfall has reduced visibility and caused vehicles to skid, increasing the risk of accidents. Snow-clearing operations are underway, but authorities say the road will remain closed until weather conditions improve.
Tourists have been strongly advised to postpone travel plans to Murree and surrounding hill stations. Local administration has also urged visitors already in Murree to stay indoors and cooperate with rescue and traffic officials.
Emergency services, including traffic police and rescue teams, are on high alert, while machinery has been deployed to clear snow from major roads. Further updates regarding the reopening of the expressway will be shared after a safety assessment.
