Mumbai, India – Kareena Kapoor, one of Bollywood’s leading actresses, has responded to the ongoing criticism surrounding her interfaith marriage with Saif Ali Khan, emphasizing that what truly matters in their relationship is “respect and love.”
In a candid conversation with The Indian Express while promoting her Netflix debut film “Jaane Jaan,” the actress shed light on the dynamics of her relationship with Saif Ali Khan. She stated, “The important thing is to have fun. The most important thing between Saif and I is that we like each other and enjoy our company.”
Addressing the criticism regarding the 10-year age gap between her and her husband, Kareena Kapoor was quick to dismiss the notion that age should be a determining factor in a relationship. She humorously remarked, “When has age ever mattered? He is hotter than ever. I am happy I am 10 years younger; he should be worried. No one would say he has turned 53.”
Kareena, who is 42 years old, revealed that she has never given Saif’s age or his faith much thought. She stressed that the essential aspects of their relationship are centered on respect, love, and the joy they find in each other’s company. She concluded her statement by saying, “How should it matter what faith he follows or what his age is? That isn’t even a point of discussion. What matters is respect and love and the fact that we have fun with each other.”
On the professional front, Kareena Kapoor is gearing up for her highly anticipated OTT debut with the film “Jaane Jaan,” directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is an adaptation of the bestselling Japanese novel “The Devotion of Suspect X,” penned by Keigo Higashino. Bollywood fans are eagerly awaiting her performance in this intriguing project.
