Four Pakistani Soldiers Martyred in Clash with TTP Terrorists Near Afghanistan Border

In a tragic confrontation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, four valiant Pakistani soldiers lost their lives while thwarting an infiltration attempt by terrorists from the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident, underscoring the soldiers’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding their nation’s peace and prosperity.

The clash unfolded on September 28 at 5:45 pm (PST) when terrorists attempted to breach Pakistan’s border from Afghanistan. The Pakistani forces successfully repelled the attack, but it came at a heavy cost. Havildar Sattar, Lance Naik Sher Azam, Lance Naik Adnan, and Sepoy Nadeem demonstrated immense bravery but ultimately embraced martyrdom in the line of duty. During the engagement, the soldiers also managed to eliminate three terrorists, while several other militants sustained injuries, according to the ISPR.

In response to this tragic incident, the ISPR issued a resolute statement, asserting that “Security forces of Pakistan will continue to thwart efforts of the enemies of peace and prosperity in the country.”

This event follows a recent intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Tirah area of Khyber District. Three terrorists were neutralized during the operation after reports of their presence in the region were received on the night of September 25-26.

Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism was emphasized by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir last month, highlighting the nation’s role in curbing the menace of terrorism.

In a related development, the interim rulers of Afghanistan reportedly arrested 200 suspected militants involved in attacks against Pakistan, as part of their efforts to counter cross-border terrorism. The Voice of America (VOA) cited Pakistani officials who were informed of these actions, which included other “concrete steps” to suppress terrorist activity.

The crackdown on the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was discussed during bilateral talks held in Kabul between Afghan and Pakistani delegations. These talks occurred in the wake of a previous incident on September 6, in which four soldiers were martyred while repulsing terrorist attacks on two Pakistan Army checkpoints near the Afghanistan border in the Kalash area of District Chitral, as reported by the ISPR.

As Pakistan continues its relentless efforts to combat terrorism and maintain regional stability, the nation mourns the loss of its brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of peace and security.
