Lahore, Pakistan – In a press conference held in Lahore on Tuesday, senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former interior minister Rana Sanaullah announced that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan with protective bail and will surrender to the court amid a grand welcome reception.
Sanaullah emphasized the PML-N’s commitment to addressing Pakistan’s economic and political challenges as a top priority. He stated, “We will not forget anyone. When the time comes, things will be settled. But if we were to start arresting everyone right now, it would be detrimental to both ourselves and the country.”
The PML-N leader provided insights into Nawaz Sharif’s return plans, emphasizing his focus on strengthening the country’s economy. Sanaullah also indicated that the law would take its course regarding those accused in the May 9 riots case, though he acknowledged that it might not be possible to disclose all facts related to the incident.
Rana Sanaullah assured that the PML-N’s legal team was making all necessary arrangements for Nawaz’s protective bail and subsequent surrender before the court. Nawaz Sharif’s return is scheduled for October 21.
PML-N Leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif Highlights Comprehensive Agenda
In a separate statement earlier this week, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted her father’s, Nawaz Sharif’s, comprehensive agenda to address Pakistan’s issues. She lamented that inflation plaguing the nation today would not have occurred had the former prime minister not been “unjustly punished.”
Maryam recalled the period between 2013 and 2018 when the growth rate was an impressive 6.1 percent, and inflation was kept at a record low of 3.8 percent. She stated, “Nawaz eliminated power outages and terrorism, and he will rescue the nation from these sufferings, with the grace of God.”
Maryam praised her father’s commitment to delivering on promises, saying, “Nawaz Sharif doesn’t just talk, he works. His name is engraved on every development project.” She assured that the former prime minister would unite the nation and present a comprehensive agenda for progress, adding, “Nawaz Sharif has prepared an agenda to rescue the country and its people from the prevailing problems.”
Maryam concluded her address by announcing a historic welcome for Nawaz Sharif on October 21 as he returns to the political forefront after four years.
