In a compassionate move to support international students, Pakistan’s Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister, Justice Maqbool Baqra, announced on Friday the exemption of tuition and hostel fees for Palestinian students enrolled in “public sector educational institutions” across the Sindh province.
Justice Maqbool Baqra’s announcement comes as a gesture of solidarity with Palestinian students pursuing their higher education in Sindh. The exemption of tuition and hostel fees is aimed at reducing the financial burden on these students and promoting educational opportunities for Palestinian youth in Pakistan.
The Caretaker Chief Minister stated, “Sindh has always been committed to promoting education and welcoming students from around the world. We are pleased to extend this support to our Palestinian brothers and sisters who are pursuing their education here. This exemption will help ensure that financial constraints do not hinder their academic pursuits.”
Currently, 48 Palestinian students are pursuing their education in various public sector educational institutions across Sindh. The fee exemption will provide them with significant financial relief and enable them to continue their studies without the added financial burden of tuition and hostel fees.
This announcement is seen as a heartwarming gesture of goodwill and international cooperation, as Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Palestinian students who have chosen Pakistan as their destination for higher education.
