Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been given an eight-year prison sentence and a fine of Rs300,000 (three lacs) in a rape case. The court also ordered him to pay an additional two lac rupees to the victim. His lawyer mentioned they plan to appeal this decision in the High Court. The Nepal Cricket Association had suspended Lamichhane from the team in September last year when he was accused of raping an 18-year-old girl.
