Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has rallied his supporters following an attack on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s information secretary, Raoof Hassan. The incident, involving unidentified assailants wielding a blade, occurred in Islamabad, prompting Khan to issue a strong statement urging readiness for street agitation.
“We must now be ready to practically struggle against this fascist mafia,” Khan declared, emphasizing the need for unified action against such acts of violence. The PTI leader’s directive, conveyed through social media, underscored a call for coordinated efforts across all levels of the party.
Hassan’s ordeal, described as an “assassination attempt,” has sparked demands within PTI for a thorough investigation. Khan, echoing sentiments within the party, warned of nationwide protests should similar attacks target PTI leaders in the future.
“The impact of such demonstrations will be on the corrupt government,” asserted the PTI leader, rejecting the initial police report on the incident. Khan further alleged political persecution against PTI, citing a pattern of impunity over the past two years.
“For the sake of Pakistan, we have been very patient so far. But ENOUGH IS ENOUGH NOW!!” Khan’s message resonated with a growing sentiment of discontent, highlighting the urgency of addressing underlying issues.
In emphasizing the link between political and economic stability, Khan reiterated the imperative of addressing Pakistan’s political landscape. The incident has galvanized PTI’s resolve, signaling a renewed push for change amid mounting challenges.
