In a bid to enhance user experience, WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature named “media upload quality” for iOS users. This feature, designed to provide greater control over sharing content, allows users to manage the quality of photos and videos before sending them across the platform.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, the feature ensures that essential details within photos and videos are preserved, offering users the option to select between high-quality and standard-quality settings. This functionality mirrors what Meta’s app already offers for Android users.
Accessible within the storage and data section of the iOS application, the feature enables users to set their preferred default quality for media uploads. Opting for high-quality ensures clearer images and videos with preserved details, while standard quality facilitates instant sharing with reduced file sizes.
However, it’s worth noting that selecting the high-quality option doesn’t allow users to share media in its original quality directly. To maintain original quality, users must share photos and videos as documents.
By streamlining the process and eliminating the need for manual adjustments, this feature offers significant benefits in terms of convenience. Users can now enjoy a seamless sharing experience without compromising on the quality of their media content.
