As the sacred journey of the Hajj pilgrimage approaches, Pakistan’s Hajj Medical Mission (PHMM) stands ready to deliver exceptional healthcare services to ensure the safety and well-being of Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Led by Director Brigadier Jamil Ahmed Lakhair and comprising 400 dedicated members, the PHMM is fully equipped with a substantial stock of medicines and a team of medical specialists.
Working tirelessly since the start of the pre-Hajj flight operation in May, the PHMM team, stationed across two hospitals and 11 dispensaries in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah, is prepared to handle any medical emergency with professionalism. With expertise ranging from cardiologists to dermatologists, the team is available in three shifts, ensuring round-the-clock healthcare services for pilgrims.
Pakistan has established two hospitals and 11 dispensaries in key locations to provide comprehensive healthcare for Hajj pilgrims, with each facility equipped with modern medical equipment and staffed by trained professionals. Patients are provided with free treatment and medicines, with minor procedures performed onsite and serious cases referred to Saudi hospitals.
In response to the prevalent disease trend, which sees a majority of patients presenting with respiratory tract infections and musculoskeletal disorders, PHMM head Brigadier Jamil advises pilgrims to take precautionary measures against heatstroke, especially considering the severe heat warning issued by the Saudi National Centre for Meteorology.
Pilgrims are encouraged to use face masks, umbrellas, and stay hydrated with ORS to maintain their health during the rigorous Hajj days. The mission’s healthcare facilities have received positive feedback from patients, with individuals like Muhammad Ilyas and Mehboob Hussain praising the VIP treatment and attentive care they received.
As the Hajj pilgrimage approaches, the PHMM remains committed to ensuring the comfort, safety, and spiritual fulfillment of Pakistani pilgrims, reaffirming its dedication to excellence in healthcare services during this sacred journey.
