In a significant move towards educational empowerment, the Balochistan government has unveiled plans to enroll approximately 400 children of laborers in higher educational institutions across Pakistan on a scholarship basis this year. This initiative, spearheaded by the Labour and Manpower Department, aims to provide opportunities for bright young minds from underprivileged backgrounds.
According to officials, the Labour and Manpower Department has already registered 200 children, with an additional 200 expected to be enrolled by July 15. This effort is part of a broader strategy to uplift the socio-economic status of laborers’ families by investing in education.
In a recent meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the government resolved to accelerate the Youth Skills Development Program. This program aims to train both skilled and unskilled youth, with the ambitious goal of facilitating employment opportunities abroad for them by 2025.
Chief Minister Bugti underscored the importance of accurate registration of laborers to ensure they receive due social security benefits and fair wages. Enhancing the quality of life for laborers and their families remains a priority for the provincial government.
This initiative not only seeks to bridge educational disparities but also aims to empower the next generation of Balochistan’s workforce, fostering a brighter future for the region.
