Karachi, Pakistan – July 18, 2024
Last night, Karachi had its hottest July night ever. The temperature dropped to 32.5°C, breaking the previous records set earlier this month. The highest temperatures recorded on July 1 and 17, at 32°C, have now been surpassed.
The Meteorological department noted that in 2021 and 2022, the lowest temperatures for July were around 31°C. They predict that while coastal winds might bring a bit of relief, warm and humid conditions will continue.
Today, temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler, about 2 to 4°C lower than yesterday’s peak of 37°C. There’s a chance of rain in the outskirts of Karachi, which could help cool things down temporarily.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against the heat.
