In a significant counter-terrorism operation, Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has apprehended Muhammad Hanif, alias Billu Badshah, a most wanted suspect linked to several high-profile attacks. The arrest took place in Nawabshah, where Billu Badshah was reportedly planning to sabotage a railway track.
Billu Badshah, a key figure in the militant Sindhu Desh Revolutionary Army, was on the run after previously escaping custody while returning from an anti-terrorism court in Sukkur. CTD officials have confirmed that he received training at the outfit’s camp in Afghanistan.
The suspect has confessed to orchestrating multiple attacks, including those targeting Rangers personnel—resulting in injuries to six officers—and a Chinese national. During his arrest, authorities seized 460 grams of explosives, a hand grenade, three detonators, a battery, a cellphone, and cash.
A case has been filed against Billu Badshah at the Shaheed Benazirabad CTD station under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
