Karachi, Lahore, Quetta – Schools in Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan have reopened today for the new academic year.
In Punjab, schools will now operate five days a week. From Monday to Thursday, classes will be from 8 AM to 1:30 PM, and on Fridays, they will be from 8 AM to 12 PM. This change affects both government and private schools.
In Sindh, including Karachi, schools have also resumed. Sindh’s Education Minister, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, announced new reforms, including a teachers’ licensing policy.
Attendance was lower than usual on the first day as students adjusted after the summer break. However, parents were assured that absentees will catch up soon.
At Seeds School in Karachi, students started the day with various activities. Many students used their vacation to travel and complete homework and are now ready to focus on their studies.
The summer vacation in Sindh was extended due to anticipated rain, with schools closed from June 1 to August 14.
