Abdul Nasir, father of Pakistan’s fastest bowler Ihsanullah, has voiced serious concerns about his son’s cricketing future, attributing his growing apprehensions to an ongoing elbow injury. Despite undergoing surgery in England over a year ago, Ihsanullah’s recovery has been sluggish, prompting Nasir to appeal to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for a change in his son’s rehabilitation venue.
Nasir has requested that Ihsanullah’s rehabilitation be relocated from the current facilities in Swat to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. He criticized the existing arrangements, citing a shortage of advanced medical facilities and experienced doctors in Swat as significant drawbacks to his son’s recovery.
“Given Ihsanullah’s status as Pakistan’s fastest bowler and the importance of his career to the national team, it’s imperative that he receives the best possible care,” Abdul Nasir said. “The facilities here in Swat are simply not up to the mark, and we need the expertise available at the NCA to ensure a full and speedy recovery.”
Adding his voice to the call, Coach Malik Nasir has also urged the PCB to facilitate the transfer. “Ihsanullah is an invaluable asset to Pakistan cricket,” Coach Malik emphasized. “We must ensure that every possible resource is utilized to protect his career and help him return to peak performance.”
The PCB has yet to officially respond to the request. However, the situation underscores the critical importance of advanced rehabilitation facilities in managing and recovering from high-level sports injuries.
