Germany’s Foreign Minister has reaffirmed Berlin’s commitment to the two-state solution, declaring that the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state remains a central objective of German foreign policy.
Speaking at a press conference in Berlin, the minister stressed that lasting peace in the Middle East can only be achieved through negotiations that ensure security for Israel while granting Palestinians their right to statehood.
“A Palestinian state is our goal, and we will continue working with international partners to make it a reality,” the minister said, urging all sides to resume constructive dialogue.
Germany, a key player within the European Union, has long supported a negotiated two-state solution. The statement comes at a time when tensions in the region are high, and diplomatic efforts to restart peace talks remain stalled.
Analysts say Berlin’s renewed emphasis could reinvigorate European diplomatic engagement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
