In a joyous celebration of love, Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, married her longtime boyfriend, celebrity fitness trainer Nupur Shikhare, in a private ceremony at Taj Lands End in Mumbai’s Bandra on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old bride, Ira Khan, looked stunning in a traditional lehenga paired with a dupatta covering her head, while the groom, Nupur Shikhare, opted for a more unconventional look, sporting shorts and a black vest instead of the traditional sherwani and safa. Videos of Shikhare jogging from his home in Santacruz to the wedding venue quickly went viral, showcasing his unique and energetic entrance.
The wedding ceremony was a simple and intimate affair, attended by close family and friends of the couple. Guests were treated to a reception following the ceremony, filled with joyful moments and celebratory dances to dhol beats.
Ira Khan, known for her entrepreneurial spirit, is the founder and CEO of the Agatsu Foundation, a mental healthcare organization established in 2021. Her journey to create the foundation began six years ago after her diagnosis with clinical depression. Meanwhile, Nupur Shikhare has made a name for himself as a celebrity fitness trainer.
The star-studded guest list included Aamir Khan’s ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, showcasing the close-knit nature of the family. Aamir Khan shares two children, Ira and Junaid, with Reena Dutta, and has his youngest child, Azad, with Kiran Rao.
The newlyweds have additional celebrations planned, with another wedding ceremony scheduled in Udaipur on January 8, followed by a grand reception in Mumbai on January 13. Ira and Nupur got engaged in November 2023, marking the next chapter in their three-year-long relationship.
