Makkah: Saudi authorities have successfully conducted an air ambulance trial on the newly constructed helipad at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, marking a significant step in enhancing emergency medical response for pilgrims.
The trial was overseen by the Kingdom’s emergency services, with a helicopter landing and taking off from the helipad to assess its operational efficiency. The initiative aims to ensure swift medical evacuation and immediate treatment for worshippers in case of emergencies.
Officials stated that the helipad is strategically located to provide rapid access to hospitals, especially during Hajj and Umrah seasons when millions of pilgrims visit the holy site.
The air ambulance service is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to improve healthcare and safety measures at the Grand Mosque, reinforcing its commitment to the well-being of worshippers.
