In a recent social media exchange, singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar stirred the pot with a sarcastic post acknowledging his competition in the music industry. Zafar’s post came after a user compared the YouTube views of his latest song “Balo Batian” with Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s (CFAK) track “Badu Badi”.
“Confession: I was delusional and arrogant to think I had no competition. I’ve been humbled,” Zafar responded to the user’s May 23 post, shedding light on the contrasting views between his song and CFAK’s.
Zafar’s “Balo Batian” with Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi garnered over 16 million views in a month, while CFAK’s “Badu Badi” surged ahead with 19 million views in the same timeframe. Notably, as of June 2, CFAK’s song has surpassed 27 million views, further solidifying his growing influence on social media platforms.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, hailed as a social media sensation, gained prominence after releasing an anthem for the Pakistan Super League’s eighth season. Residing in London, Khan regularly shares his musical creations on social media and is gearing up for the Eid release of his upcoming film “Sabaq”.
Reflecting on his musical journey, Khan disclosed in a past interview with Aaj News that his passion for singing dates back to the early 1980s when he joined a music group in Sheikhupura. He also revealed the reason behind changing his name, stating, “My real name is Kashif Rana. I changed it about seven years ago when I started singing.”
As both artists continue to make waves in the music scene, their competitive spirit adds an intriguing layer to the evolving landscape of Pakistani music.
