In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized narcotics valued at over 10 million rupees in a series of operations across Pakistan.
According to an official statement, the operations led to the arrest of nine individuals and the recovery of 63.151 kilograms of various narcotics, including hashish, crystal meth (ice), and heroin.
Significant Operations:
- Rawalpindi:
- Near Koh Noor Mills, 3.600 kilograms of hashish were discovered in a car’s secret compartments. The driver was arrested on the spot.
- At Pirwadhai Mor on GT Road, another suspect was caught with 2.400 kilograms of hashish.
- Hyderabad:
- 3 kilograms of hashish were recovered from a suspect at Fateh Chowk.
- Islamabad:
- On the Islamabad Expressway, 900 grams of hashish were confiscated from a suspect near a college.
- 51 grams of weed were seized from two individuals near a university in a private housing society. Both admitted to selling drugs to students at educational institutions.
- Peshawar:
- Near Haji Camp, 1.200 kilograms of ice were recovered from a suspect.
- Quetta and Gwadar:
- On Saryab Road in Quetta, 10 kilograms of hashish were seized from two suspects.
- In Gwadar, 32 kilograms of hashish were discovered near the coastal line.
- Additionally, a warehouse near D-Block Chowk in Gwadar yielded 5 kilograms of heroin and 5 kilograms of ice.
The suspects have been charged under the Narcotics Control Act, and further investigations are underway. The ANF has reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and protecting communities from the menace of narcotics.
