Islamabad — Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has initiated an internal investigation after another crew member allegedly went missing while on duty in Canada. The airline confirmed that the attendant did not report for their scheduled return flight from Toronto to Lahore, citing ill health when contacted by management.
A PIA spokesperson stated that if the disappearance is confirmed to be intentional or illegal, departmental action will be taken.
This incident follows several similar cases, including a previous disappearance of a female cabin crew member in Toronto earlier this year. Analysts suggest that such cases may be linked to Canada’s immigration and asylum regulations, which some airline staff might attempt to utilize.
PIA officials said they are working closely with Canadian authorities to manage and investigate the increasing number of crew disappearances abroad.
