In a shocking incident late Sunday night, armed robbers stole four pizzas at gunpoint from a delivery boy, according to local police reports. The suspects reportedly placed a fake order by phone, luring the delivery worker to the scene where they ambushed him upon arrival.
The assailants, who fled the scene on a motorbike with the stolen pizzas, remain unidentified, and a case has been filed against them. This incident highlights a troubling trend, as police noted a similar robbery recently in Sufyan Town, where pizzas valued at Rs1,800 were taken in a similar manner.
In a related case earlier on September 3, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) police arrested a food delivery rider named Naveed for stealing motorcycles while on duty in Karachi. The arrest was made following a thorough investigation that uncovered CCTV footage linking him to multiple thefts. Authorities recovered two stolen motorcycles from his possession, emphasizing the role of surveillance technology in crime prevention and resolution.
Naveed, who had previously been arrested in connection with five motorcycle theft cases, was involved in stealing a motorcycle from a customer named Sameer on August 30, 2024. Another stolen motorcycle was recovered from Karachi’s Kharadar area. The recovery of stolen property and Naveed’s prior criminal record underscore the ongoing issues of theft and crime within the city, prompting police to increase vigilance and preventive measures.
