A judicial magistrate in Bannu has issued arrest warrants for Judge Humayun Dilawar, the judge who convicted PTI founder Imran Khan last year, following an application by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The ACE, which is investigating the judge’s family for alleged land grabbing, sought the arrest of Judge Dilawar, his father, uncle, and brother. The case, filed on Monday, charges the family under sections 409, 419, 420, 468, 471 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), and section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA). KP chief minister’s aide, retired Brigadier Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi, confirmed the probe, accusing the judge’s family of forging documents to seize land.
Judicial Magistrate Mehbooul Hassan approved the warrants, citing Section 468, which mandates up to seven years’ imprisonment for forgery. Other charges include petty crimes committed by public servants, personation, and dishonesty.
The warrants remain active until the accused are arrested and brought before the court. The investigation centers on allegations that the judge’s family forged documents to illegally occupy land valued at Rs1.5 billion.
Judge Dilawar gained attention in August last year after sentencing former Prime Minister Imran Khan to three years in prison for misdeclaration of assets.
