Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has launched a scathing critique of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, accusing it of pursuing an anti-national agenda through alleged connections with Indian elements.
In a recent statement, Tarar alleged that PTI’s alignment with foreign adversaries is part of a broader strategy to undermine Pakistan’s interests. He specifically cited interactions between PTI leader Raoof Hasan and Indian journalists as evidence of this purported disloyalty.
Tarar claimed that the party’s ties with Indian journalists, as well as its collaboration with former intelligence chief Faiz Hameed, represent a severe betrayal of national interests. He accused PTI of bringing extremist elements into Pakistan via the western border and using foreign funds to damage the country’s foreign policy.
The information minister asserted that Hasan’s communication with an Indian journalist, known for anti-Pakistan sentiments, further exposes PTI’s alleged disloyalty. He argued that this interaction is part of a broader PTI agenda aimed at destabilizing Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Tarar also drew connections between PTI’s actions and the attacks on May 9, suggesting that the party’s Islamabad-based social media cell is involved in anti-army propaganda with links to India. He accused PTI of pursuing a foreign-sponsored agenda intended to create chaos and instability in Pakistan.
Criticizing former intelligence chief Faiz Hameed, Tarar described him as a significant player in PTI’s strategy to weaken Pakistan’s institutions. He highlighted a supposed alliance between Hameed, PTI founder Imran Khan, and Khan’s spouse, Bushra Bibi, alleging that this collaboration has led to damaging the country’s interests and undermining military cohesion.
In conclusion, Tarar claimed that PTI’s actions, including orchestrating anti-military rhetoric, are aimed at inciting unrest among both serving and retired military officers, creating the appearance of confusion and division within Pakistan’s armed forces.
