QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has launched the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Programme, aimed at equipping 30,000 young people from the province with marketable skills and overseas job opportunities.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Friday, CM Bugti highlighted the programme as a step towards fulfilling his long-standing ambition to send skilled Balochistan youth abroad for employment, a vision he first shared in the provincial assembly.
In the first phase, 2,500 youths from various districts will be selected on merit and sent abroad for training. A senior official stated that the selected individuals would secure international job placements upon completing their training. The selection process will be conducted by a third-party organization to ensure transparency and fairness, with representation guaranteed from every district in the province.
Addressing the pressing issue of unemployment in Balochistan, CM Bugti noted that limited government sector job opportunities have made international training and employment a viable solution. He assured that the government is committed to meritocracy, emphasizing that no jobs would be sold and that recruitment would be based strictly on qualifications.
He urged the youth to seize these development opportunities and avoid any misguided paths. The chief minister further stated that the Balochistan government has reallocated resources from other projects to prioritize youth development through this initiative.
