Behroze Sabzwari, one of Pakistan’s legendary actors, renowned for his versatile talent and commanding respect in the showbiz industry, recently shared his thoughts in a candid podcast interview with Adnan Faisal. The discussion covered various topics, including the life of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan and personal reflections on his family dynamics.
Reflecting on his longstanding association with Imran Khan, Sabzwari expressed unwavering support for the cricketer-turned-politician. “Khan will definitely win because he is truthful and honest,” Sabzwari asserted. He reminisced about their 24-year collaboration on projects like Shaukat Khanum Hospital, underscoring Khan’s dedication and integrity.
Addressing controversial rumors about Khan, specifically the allegations of drug use, Sabzwari dismissed them as false. He clarified, “It’s a lie. I’ve had the opportunity to drink with Khan many times, and he never takes more than one drink. The rest of the information in this regard is pure lies.”
The conversation also touched on personal matters, particularly relating to Syra Yousuf, the former wife of his son Shehroz Sabzwari. Syra and Shehroz, who were married for seven years, announced their separation in February 2020. Shehroz’s subsequent marriage to model Sadaf Kanwal, just three months later, surprised many.
Commenting on Syra’s current status, Behroze suggested that she should consider remarrying, following in his son’s footsteps. Despite the divorce, Sabzwari emphasized the enduring bond between the families. “Syra is my daughter, even now. If their chemistry wasn’t compatible, we can’t do anything about it — this is up to God,” he stated. He acknowledged the difficult period they faced during the separation, compounded by public scrutiny and online trolling.
“The trolling was a difficult time for us to go through. It was harsh for Shehroz, for Syra, and for the families. It was a very personal matter but people think otherwise,” he lamented, highlighting the emotional strain caused by public judgment.
Behroze Sabzwari’s reflections in this interview not only shed light on his personal and professional experiences but also reaffirmed his stature as a respected figure in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
