Renowned Pakistani singer Bilal Saeed recently shared the emotional journey of pursuing his passion for music despite his religious upbringing. In a heartfelt interview, the artist revealed the internal and external struggles he faced as a Hafiz-e-Quran navigating the world of music.
Bilal confessed that his decision to enter the music industry was met with apprehension, particularly due to his fear of how his Madrasah teachers might perceive it. “In the beginning, I avoided going to Sialkot. Whenever I saw my teachers, I would change lanes out of fear of being questioned,” he shared. “I thought they would say, ‘You are a Hafiz, and now you are singing?'”
However, his father’s supportive words gave him the courage to follow his dreams. “My father allowed me to pursue music, saying, ‘I don’t want to make you feel restricted,'” Bilal added.
Recalling his Madrasah days, Bilal admitted to being mischievous, sharing light-hearted memories of adding chili peppers to his teachers’ food and putting garbage in their shoes. Yet, as he matured, life’s challenges and triumphs reshaped his perspective.
His upcoming album will reflect these life lessons, showcasing a brighter, more positive outlook compared to his earlier music, which he said mirrored his personal struggles.
Discussing his experiences in Bollywood, Bilal praised the professionalism of the Indian film and music industry. He emphasized the importance of adhering to contracts, saying, “In India, whether it’s a superstar or a junior artist, everyone strictly follows their agreements. This principle is crucial for growth.”
The singer urged the Pakistani entertainment industry to adopt similar standards to foster development and professionalism.
Bilal Saeed’s journey is a testament to perseverance, balancing personal faith with professional passion, and using past experiences to inspire creative growth. Fans eagerly await his forthcoming album, which promises to highlight the brighter chapters of his life.
