Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, was shaken by a blast near the Chaman Phattak area on 01 Sept 2024. The explosion, which occurred in a densely populated section of the city, injured at least two people and caused significant damage to nearby buildings, shattering windows and alarming residents.
The injured, identified as Ghulam Hussain and his son Osama, were pedestrians close to the blast site. They were immediately rushed to Civil Hospital, where medical staff reported that both are out of danger.
Law enforcement agencies, including the police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Frontier Corps (FC), and the Bomb Disposal Squad, quickly arrived at the scene. They have begun gathering evidence and have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident.
In response to the blast, authorities have established checkpoints around Chaman Phattak and surrounding areas, intensifying their search for those responsible. The situation remains under close watch as the investigation continues.
