In response to directives from Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Secretary of Livestock Kazim Jatoi visited the CDRS animal shelter in Karachi today. This visit comes in the wake of a horrific incident in Sanghar where six suspects were apprehended for the brutal mutilation of a camel.
The Sindh government has taken decisive action, covering the medical expenses for the injured camel, which includes a prosthetic leg arranged by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari from Dubai.
During his visit, Secretary Jatoi provided an update on the camel’s condition, noting significant healing of its injured leg. Additionally, efforts are underway to address the health of an injured donkey at the shelter, with plans for an X-ray examination.
Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the six individuals involved in the camel mutilation case, who are currently in custody. CDRS personnel are working diligently to prevent infections and ensure the camel’s recovery.
