Islamabad: Authorities have issued strict orders for all car wash stations to install water recycling systems by February 28, 2025, or face a hefty fine of Rs. 1 lac.
The directive comes as part of efforts to conserve water and curb wastage, especially in urban areas where excessive water consumption at car wash stations has raised concerns. Officials have warned that failure to comply with the deadline will result in heavy penalties and possible closure of non-compliant businesses.
Environmental experts have welcomed the move, emphasizing that water recycling systems can significantly reduce freshwater usage. The government is also considering incentives for stations that implement eco-friendly practices ahead of the deadline.
This regulation aligns with broader initiatives to promote sustainable water management in Pakistan.
