The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has ordered the immediate removal of the controversial “Golden Hands” sculpture recently installed on Margalla Avenue, declaring it an unauthorized structure.
According to CDA officials, the sculpture was erected without prior approval or coordination with relevant municipal departments. The civic body emphasized that all installations on public land must comply with CDA bylaws and obtain formal clearance.
The striking gold-painted structure, featuring two large clasped hands, sparked debate on social media soon after its appearance, with some praising its artistic expression while others criticized its location and design.
CDA has initiated action to dismantle the sculpture and warned that any future unauthorized art or installations will face similar action.
