In response to accusations made by Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa has categorically dismissed the claims as ‘baseless’ and lacking any evidence.
Chatha had earlier alleged the involvement of both the chief election commissioner and the chief justice in purported election rigging. However, CJP Isa refuted these assertions, asserting that unfounded allegations hold no credibility without substantiating evidence.
During a casual interaction with media personnel in Islamabad, CJP Isa remarked, “Someone can blame me for theft or murder tomorrow. If hurling allegations is your right, give me evidence along with it too.”
This statement underscores the importance of evidence-based accusations and highlights the necessity of concrete proof to support claims of wrongdoing.
The response from Chief Justice Isa serves as a reminder of the principles of justice and fairness, emphasizing the need for accountability and factual substantiation in allegations of such gravity.
