In a major move to attract global visitors, China has opened visa-free entry to citizens of more than 75 countries in 2025. The expanded policy allows travelers to stay in China for up to 30 days without a visa, marking one of the country’s largest steps in easing travel restrictions.
The newly added countries span across Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East, strengthening China’s position as a global tourism and business hub. Citizens from countries not included in the full waiver—such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom—are still eligible for a 10-day visa-free transit stay via designated entry points.
Officials described the expansion as both an economic and diplomatic initiative, designed to revive inbound tourism after the pandemic, strengthen cultural ties, and project China’s openness to the world.
Travel experts say the policy will significantly benefit international students, business travelers, and tourists, while positioning China as a more accessible destination for global exchange.
