Meeting between the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and the Ambassador of Palestine to Pakistan, Ahmad Jawad Rabei. During the meeting, General Munir expressed condolences for the loss of Palestinian lives in Gaza and grave concern over the violence and indiscriminate killing of civilians by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the ongoing conflict. The Palestinian health ministry reported a significant death toll, with thousands of Palestinians, including many children, killed during two weeks of strikes. General Munir condemned the attacks on civilian populations, schools, hospitals, and the forced displacement of Palestinians, characterizing them as crimes against humanity.
General Munir called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a humanitarian corridor in Gaza. He emphasized the protection of civilians and adherence to International Humanitarian Law during the ongoing crisis. Pakistan reiterated its support for an independent, viable, and contiguous state of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. General Munir attributed the recent violence to ongoing repression, human rights violations, and the sacrilege of Al Aqsa mosque. He urged the international community to work towards ending the human tragedy resulting from the use of disproportionate and unlawful force by the IDF.
