Another victim has succumbed to the deadly Congo virus in Quetta, Pakistan. The 37-year-old patient, who had been under treatment at Fatima Jinnah Hospital, lost their battle against the virus, raising the death toll from this perilous disease to 18 in the region.
This year, the Congo virus has proven to be particularly fatal, with the number of casualties steadily rising. The latest victim’s death serves as a grim reminder of the urgency required in combating the virus’s spread and ensuring the safety of the local population.
Tragically, the medical community has also not been immune to the virus’s impact. Recently, Dr. Shukrullah, who was posted at Quetta Civil Hospital, became infected with the Congo virus. His condition deteriorated rapidly, along with seven other critical patients, and they were urgently transported to a private hospital in Karachi via air ambulance.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Dr. Shukrullah lost his battle with the virus, having been diagnosed with it just three days prior. This loss has underscored the high risks faced by healthcare workers on the front lines of the battle against the Congo virus.
Authorities and healthcare providers continue to work tirelessly to contain the outbreak, raise awareness, and provide the best possible care to patients affected by the virus. As the death toll climbs, it is imperative that the public remains vigilant and takes necessary precautions to minimize the risk of contracting the Congo virus.
