A local court on Wednesday extended the interim bail of social media influencer Rajab Butt and two others in a case involving alleged death threats to TikToker Umar Butt.
Additional Sessions Judge Abid Ali presided over the hearing, where the accused—Rajab Butt, Haider Ali, and Maan Dogar—appeared before the court. Defence lawyer Junaid Khan argued that his clients had already joined the investigation and urged the court to confirm their bail.
The judge extended their interim bail until March 24 and directed the police to submit a report on the case at the next hearing.
Background of the Case
The case stems from an incident last month when Rajab Butt, along with seven others, was accused of threatening TikToker Umar Fayyaz Butt. According to the complaint, Butt, Dogar, and Haider Shah, accompanied by armed men, allegedly arrived at Umar Fayyaz’s residence in the early hours.
Umar Fayyaz claimed that during a TikTok live session, Maan Dogar used abusive language and issued threats, which he viewed as an attack on his dignity. In response, he sought legal action against the accused.
Social Media Dispute
The controversy allegedly began during a live TikTok session where Umar Butt and Maan Dogar engaged in a heated exchange. Spectators reported that Umar Butt directed foul language toward Rajab Butt’s family, prompting Rajab Butt to retaliate.
Rajab Butt defended his family and accused Umar Butt and his brother, Ali Butt, of tarnishing the reputations of several women. He further warned them against targeting his family, threatening to expose personal details if they continued their actions.
Legal Proceedings Underway
The police have confirmed that a case has been registered and that legal proceedings are ongoing. Rajab Butt, known for his family vlogs, has faced multiple legal issues, including a separate case in Karachi.
The court will review the police report at the next hearing on March 24.
