After a tense wait and fan outcry, Deadpool & Wolverine has finally been greenlit for screening across Sindh, Pakistan. The movie, which was slated for release on July 26, faced a setback as cinemas awaited the necessary censor certificate from the Sindh Censor Board.
The delay prompted Nueplex Cinemas to halt all scheduled screenings, offering refunds to disappointed ticket holders and promising rescheduling options once clearance was secured. Meanwhile, Cinepax and Atrium Cinemas responded differently to the situation, with the latter announcing an indefinite closure.
In response to the postponement, fervent cinema-goers were captured in a viral video chanting “Deadpool, Deadpool” outside Nueplex, showcasing their enthusiasm for the superhero flick.
Amidst the uncertainty, filmmaker Usman Riaz lightened the mood with humor, encouraging movie buffs to consider his film, The Glassworker, as an alternative. Riaz shared playful memes comparing his own creation with Deadpool & Wolverine, urging his followers to catch his film in select cinemas across Pakistan.
As of now, neither the Sindh Censor Board nor HKC Entertainment, the film’s distributor, have issued formal statements regarding the delay or subsequent clearance. However, fans can finally rejoice as Deadpool & Wolverine gears up for its long-awaited debut in Sindh cinemas.
