Disha Vakani, the beloved actress known for her iconic portrayal of Daya Ben in the popular Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has reportedly turned down a record-breaking offer to participate in the upcoming season of Bigg Boss.
According to Indian media reports, the 18th season of the hit reality show Bigg Boss is scheduled to premiere on October 6, 2024. With excitement building over potential participants, it has been revealed that the show’s producers extended an unprecedented deal to Vakani. Sources claim she was offered a staggering $7.8 million USD—the largest sum ever proposed to a contestant in the show’s history.
Despite the substantial offer, Vakani declined, much like in previous seasons where she was approached but chose not to participate. The actress reportedly turned down the opportunity with apologies, expressing her inability to join the reality show.
Vakani, who rose to fame for her quirky and lovable character Daya Ben, has also worked in Gujarati films and made appearances in Bollywood movies like Devdas and Jodhaa Akbar. However, it was her role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah that cemented her as a household name in India.
Her decision to reject Bigg Boss comes as a surprise to many fans who have been eager to see her in a different avatar on the reality show.
