Dubai, UAE – Dubai Sustainable City is set to revolutionize local delivery services with the introduction of a new pilot program featuring autonomous delivery robots. Beginning this month, residents will benefit from under 30-minute delivery times as three state-of-the-art robots begin transporting goods from nearby restaurants and shops.
This innovative initiative aims to boost safety and efficiency while contributing to the reduction of traffic congestion and emissions. The program is a collaboration between Dubai Future Labs and Lyve Global, following the success of a similar trial during Expo 2020.
The move comes amidst a dynamic global landscape for robotics. Despite recent setbacks, such as Amazon’s suspension of its home delivery robot project, the robotics sector is on an upward trajectory. Industry spending is projected to surge to $210 billion by 2025, underscoring the growing significance of automation in everyday life.
Dubai Sustainable City’s commitment to cutting-edge technology and sustainability continues to position it at the forefront of smart city development.
