Dubai’s leader, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, announced a major project on social media to improve how the city handles rainwater. The $8.2 billion plan aims to increase Dubai’s drainage capacity by 700% and will be finished by 2033. Construction starts soon.
The new system will cover all parts of Dubai and can manage more than 20 million cubic meters of water daily. This move comes after recent floods in the UAE city, highlighting efforts to better protect against future weather challenges and support sustainable growth in Dubai.
