LAHORE, April 8: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert for most districts of Punjab, warning of dusty winds and thundershowers expected between April 8 and 11.
According to the PDMA, several parts of the province are likely to witness strong winds and rainfall, with a noticeable spike in temperatures forecasted for the month. Temperatures are expected to rise by 4 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal, increasing the intensity of heat, particularly in the plains.
Areas including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Gujranwala are likely to receive rain accompanied by strong winds. Similar weather conditions are also predicted for Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, and Mianwali.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia emphasized the need for preparedness, especially to cope with the combination of humidity and high temperatures during the afternoon hours. He urged relevant departments and the public to take necessary precautions during the forecast period.
The PDMA has advised residents to stay updated on weather alerts and take preventive measures to stay safe during changing weather conditions.
