Islamabad – April 8, 2025:
Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication has confirmed that Elon Musk’s satellite internet venture, Starlink, will officially commence operations in Pakistan by the end of this year.
The announcement marks a significant step toward improving internet connectivity across remote and underserved areas of the country. The minister stated that final regulatory processes are underway and all technical requirements are being aligned to ensure a smooth rollout.
“Starlink’s entry will revolutionize broadband access, especially in rural and far-flung regions where traditional internet infrastructure is limited,” he said.
With its constellation of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites, Starlink promises high-speed, low-latency internet, which could play a vital role in enhancing digital inclusion, education, telemedicine, and e-commerce across Pakistan.
The move is also seen as part of the government’s broader vision to transform Pakistan into a digital economy and attract global tech investments.
