In a recent interview, renowned TikTok star Jannat Mirza opened up about her social media journey, referring to her earlier content as “cringe” while explaining why she prefers creating TikTok videos over pursuing a career in movies.
When asked whether she dreamed of starring in films or continuing her TikTok career, Jannat shared her thoughts on the evolving entertainment landscape. She highlighted the accessibility of TikTok, especially in Pakistan, where cinema can be out of reach for many.
“TikTok is easily accessible, and I think the new generation prefers scrolling through TikTok videos on their phones while relaxing at home instead of going to the cinema,” Jannat said. She emphasized that TikTok’s wide reach has made it a platform of choice for audiences across the country. “People can easily watch me on TikTok,” she added.
Reflecting on her early days on the platform, Jannat recalled the trend of “cringe” content when she first started posting in 2017. At the time, these videos were seen as cool, but now, with the passage of time, she finds them embarrassing. “Even I can’t watch my old videos,” Jannat confessed, though she clarified that she hasn’t deleted them. They remain available on her social media for her fans to see.
Despite her feelings about her old content, Jannat continues to thrive on TikTok, proving that the platform’s appeal is growing stronger by the day.
