In a significant move to modernize the country’s tax system, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced the ‘ePayment 2.0’ system, designed to make tax payments simpler and more accessible for taxpayers nationwide. The upgraded platform aims to enhance the user experience by offering a faster, more secure, and user-friendly interface for submitting tax payments online.
Under this new system, businesses and individuals can access a range of services, including real-time tax calculations, multiple payment options, and instant confirmation of transactions. With improved functionality, taxpayers will no longer face the complexities associated with traditional tax payment methods, helping to reduce errors and delays in the payment process.
The initiative is expected to boost the government’s revenue collection by encouraging more people to file their taxes on time. In addition, the new system is in line with the government’s efforts to embrace digital transformation and streamline administrative processes, making it more convenient for Pakistani taxpayers to fulfill their obligations.
FBR officials have stated that ‘ePayment 2.0’ will gradually be expanded to incorporate other key features, including integration with mobile apps and digital wallets, further simplifying the tax payment process for all citizens. The system also ensures the protection of taxpayer data through enhanced cybersecurity measures, providing a secure environment for online transactions.
