Former Indian PM Manmohan Singh Passes Away at 92

The 92-year-old economist and statesman passed away at AIIMS in Delhi

Former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has passed away at 92 after a prolonged illness. He was hospitalized at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on December 26, 2024, where he was declared dead despite all efforts.

Singh, an economist by training, is credited with spearheading India’s economic liberalization in the early 1990s, transforming the nation’s economy. Serving as Prime Minister for two terms, he also held key government positions.

Singh’s contributions have left a lasting legacy on India’s economic landscape.
