LAHORE – In a move aimed at boosting support for women’s cricket in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced free entry for all fans to the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier matches being held at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
The tournament, which kicks off this week, features top Asian teams competing for a spot in the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Cricket enthusiasts will be able to cheer for their favorite teams from the stands without spending a rupee, as the PCB has waived all ticket charges to encourage maximum attendance and support for the women’s game.
A PCB spokesperson said, “This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to promote women’s cricket in Pakistan. We want families, students, and cricket fans to come out in large numbers and support our women cricketers on this big stage.”
The decision has been widely appreciated by fans and players alike, who see it as a positive step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive cricket culture in the country.
